How To Get Involved
When Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz came to Iowa this fall to speak with local activists and volunteers with the Obama campaign she stated that “The 2008 election was historic. 2012 is personal.” This is especially true for students and young Americans and it is vitally important here in Iowa that we show that we are still engaged by making our voices heard. In 2008 63% of Iowans between the ages of 18 and 29 came out to the polls, the second highest turnout rate in the nation. We must work to sustain that turnout rate and ensure that the voices of young people and students will always be heard.
